Increasing social impact over time
Families in our programme can earn an additional four months' wages (around US$116) in their first year, to supplement and stabilise their incomes. This gives them choices and more income to spend on better nutrition, education and healthcare. Franchisees also save 50% of their profits which means they have a buffer in times of emergency. Microfranchisee C Salay earned just $0.50 cents for working 8 hours per day when she joined the programme. She's already quadrupled her income during chicken raising cycles doing just 30 minutes' extra work a day. She started the programme with just $5,00 in savings and she now has US$53.00 in business savings. But her projected savings over the next six years as a microfranchisee could be as high as US$1,000, as she raises an increasing number of chickens. Being a microfranchisee has meant C Salay now has hope and a sense of security for her future. |
